About Us

The farm was named Campbell Land, ‘Lest you forget’ as an honour to the Campbell family’s history and the farm’s future. The pledge is that everyone is welcome at the farm and will have an unforgettable experience.

Brian and Michelle Campbell own and operate a 6000-acre mixed farm called Campbell Land near Grimshaw, Alberta. They grow wheat, barley, peas, canola, oats, and lentils. Russell Campbell (Brian's grandfather) homesteaded in 1912 near Grimshaw.

This area was first opened up in 1900. The family has continued to make their mark in the community ever since. The farm was named Campbell Land, 'Lest you forget' as an honour to the Campbell family's history and the farm's future. The pledge is that everyone is welcome at the farm and will have an unforgettable experience.

Brian and Michelle have been hosting international students since 2011. The interns are treated as extended family members as they participate in daily life on the farm. The interns eat with the family and share views, current events, history and laughs. Campbell Land's motto is Work Hard, Play Hard. Interns learn independence, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and a get 'er done attitude. Interns are encouraged to participate and integrate with the local community. Campbell Land offers various activities such as day boating, camping, snowmobiling, wildlife drives, kayaking, hunting, hiking, board games, northern light scouting, breadmaking and community events. We are always seeking activities that match the interests of the aspiring interns.

Many interns have expressed that the experience at Campbell Land has changed their lives and mindsets. They have more skills and self-confidence. Whether you are an agriculture student or a gap year student, you will make a lifetime of memories.

Meet the Campbell Land Family

Campbell Land is more than just a farm; it's a vibrant community where family values and a love for farming come together. Brian, the owner and farmer, learned the ropes from his parents Marvin and Mary Campbell, and together with his wife Michelle, they have nurtured Campbell Land into a place of warmth and learning. Their son Brett, along with his partner Amber Davies, are integral parts of this family legacy. Brett, who grew up on the farm, brings a deep passion for teaching and provides the motivation and discipline required to succeed under any of the challenges of agriculture. Amber, who hails from a local farming background, adds her own touch to the farm. Brett and Amber operate their own farm called Campbell Rock Farms.

Since 2011, these are not the only faces that have been seen around the farm.  Campbell Land has hosted over 100 students/interns from around the globe.  Campbell Land gives students the opportunity that they've been waiting for to step up and show what they have to offer. Campbell Land is a mosaic of all the fabulous people that assisted on the farm and made their own special mark forever before they left. The stories and memories are incredible.

Several years ago, Brian's cousin was investigating the family history. "Lest you forget" was the family motto.  Campbell Land decided that it was fitting to carry that on as once you enter the kingdom of Campbell Land you will never forget your time here. Campbell Land also uses the celtic knot as the logo to symbolize that we come together as a team and form a strong chain. Together we can accomplish whatever we set our minds and hearts to.
