Harvesting Gratitude

Hey friends! As the leaves turn and harvest season rolls in, I can’t help but feel a rush of gratitude for the little moments that make life truly special. This year has been especially magical, thanks to our grandson, William who’s brought so much joy and energy to our farm.

From the moment the sun peeks over the horizon, you can find him wide-eyed and ready for adventure. There’s something so heartwarming about seeing him jump out of bed at the crack of dawn, eager to check the crops with Grandpa. It’s in these early morning moments, filled with fresh air and anticipation, that our bond deepens.

One of his favorite things to do? Hauling grain to the elevator. I love watching his face light up as he takes in the sounds and sights, even chewing on some wheat along the way! It’s the perfect blend of learning and fun, and I can’t help but smile at how he fully embraces every experience.

Riding in the combine with Uncle Brett? Pure magic! The way he beams from up high, watching the fields transform, reminds me just how beautiful hard work can be. He loves making the beeping sound of the combine when its full.  And checking on the cows with Auntie Amber teaches him responsibility in such a loving way.

As we breathe in that crisp autumn air together, we savor the simple pleasures—like watching the Northern Lights dance across the sky. Those quiet moments remind us of the beauty of nature and the connections we share.

What fills my heart even more is seeing him thrive in our community. He’s made friends with our students—Baloo, Nat, Coco, Louis, and Angele—creating a little circle of joy that makes every day brighter. They share laughter and experiences that bond them like family.

And let’s talk about meal times in the field! Helping Grandma bring out hearty lunches is a highlight. Riding around in the combine with Grandpa, enjoying the views and the hard-earned break, he’s learning the value of work, community, and, most importantly, love.

This harvest isn’t just about gathering crops; it’s about nurturing relationships and creating memories we’ll cherish forever. Our grandson reminds us to embrace every moment, to find joy in the little things, and to celebrate the beauty of our farm lifestyle. Here’s to many more seasons filled with laughter, love, and all the adventures that come with them! 🌾✨
